About Us

Meet Your Coaches

We want to instill pushing forward with determination, grit, but  staying committed to excellence-whether it be in sport or in life.

Coach Julie

I grew up in upstate New York and played sports my whole Life.  My dad was a collegiate basketball coach so I was no stranger to the coaching world.  Tennis was my main focus as a teen and made me love individual sports with a team attitude.  I decided to run my first marathon for my 30th birthday and my first Ironman for my 40th.  I started training with TriDot in 2016 and have been an ambassador for many years.

Accomplishments

I live in the Chicagoland area and have been a flight attendant for American Airlines since 2000.  My job has allowed me to travel, race and train all over the world.  Going for a run has made me learn cities in the best of ways.  I graduated from Mary Washington College (now University) in Fredericksburg, VA with a degree in Biology and English.

My Coaching Philosophy

I believe a coach is something more than just writing your program.  If you are local to the Chicago area, I would love to actively coach the workouts or meet in person to talk about how your training is going.  From afar, I like to do weekly calls to discuss the past and upcoming weeks.  But mostly, I believe there is a way to tackle the day to day struggles with training, life, and ultimately race day.  Our sport is as much mental  as it is physical and having discussions along the way are invaluable.

Coach Tony

I have been coaching and teaching people all of my life.  In the Air Force, I taught people how to fly and make them mission ready.  For fun, I taught people how to race cars.  Now, I help people reach new heights in their athletic dreams.  I have been an athlete all of my life.  I ran track, played soccer, and baseball as a small boy.  I did my first triathlon in 1982 in Central Maine.

Accomplishments

I swam at the Air Force Academy specializing in sprint freestyle.  I ran the Denver Marathon in college.  I took up racing mountain bikes in Germany.  Moving back to the states, I continued cycling, picking up road and cyclo-cross racing.  I started Masters swimming and was still very fast.  When I moved to Chicago, I started running again (because of the lady on the left).  I ran a few marathons and rekindled my love for triathlon.  Since I was in swim and cycling shape and was learning how to run again, I started doing triathlons again.  I am a bigger guy (6'5", 215ish), so I understand the issues of guys my size.  I am also African American, so I understand some of the issues we face.  I have experience with nutrition and hydration challenges in many climates having lived in Colorado, Texas, Arizona and now the Chicagoland area.  I graduated from the US Air Force Academy with a degree in Biology with Sports Performance and Coaching Concentration.

My Coaching Philosophy

I love to help everyone.  If you are in the Chicagoland area, I will actively coach your workouts, especially swimming.  I have a very flexible schedule.  If you are outside my area, I use virtual tools to develop better stroke techniques in the pool or bike fitting.
