Athlete Testimonials

Heather H.

Coach Julie is a good hearted, generous human being and an excellent TriDot coach!  When she says she is there to support her athletes through the everyday struggles of training, it isn't hyperbole.  She will listen with non-judmental ear and offer support or solutions depending on what you need in that moment.  Julie's experience and knowledge speaks for itself, but she isn't afraid to say "I don't know", "I'll find out" or "Excellent, a new challenge we can tackle together!".  I would highly recommend Coach Julie to any athlete looking for support and encouragement along their triathlon journey.

Chase Z.

When I signed up for my first Ironman, I knew very little about the sport.  Coach Julie not only helped me get from ground zero to the finish in six months, but also was a huge reason I had fun the entire way.  Julie genuinely cares about her athletes and the relationship she builds with them, and will go above and beyond to make sure her athletes get the support and coaching they want.  Whenever I had questions (ranging from what equipment I needed to swim form and everything else in between), I could count on her to get me the information I needed in an incredibly time efficient manner.  Julie was there for me by communicating constantly, sharing technical feedback to help me improve, adapting my training as my life plans changed, teaching me about the sport, as well as my potential, and providing me support when I went through moments of doubt.  When Julie and I happened to be in the same city on two separate occasions, she adjusted her personal schedule and drove out of her way to have training sessions in person.  This example is just on of many of Julie's commitment to her athletes and the sport.  I couldn't be more happy about my training process, race day plan, and the relationship I've built with Juile.  I couldn't recommend her more to someone who wants to hear their name be called an Ironman.

Before starting with Coach Julie, there were struggles with consistency in my training, improving my swim technique, and feeling afraid of injury which happened often.  Negative emotions like discouragement, feeling unprepared, and being prone to injury were common.  Working with Coach Julie has been transformative.  She knew ways to adjust the TriDot platform that I could not do, that tailored to my senior citizen body, had invaluable feedback on my technique, not only in swimming (her specialty), but also other key disciplines of strength and recovery.  Her positive qualities of patience, motivating and knowledge helped to build a solid foundation for me without injury and improvement in my base.

Working with Coach Tony has completely transformed the way I train and race.  I came to him with a clear goal: to break 6:30 at the Rockford Half Ironman.  Not only did he believe in that goal from day 1, he built a plan that made it possible.  Thanks to Tony's guidance and TriDot's AI-Assisted training program, I crushed my goal and finished well under 6:30.  What really sets Tony apart is how smart and efficient his coaching is.  TriDot's system tailors each workout to your progress and recovery, helping you train smarter, not just harder.  It takes the guesswork out of training an ensures every session has a purpose.  On top of that, Tony brings the human side that no algorithm can replace: encouragement, accountability, and a deep understanding of endurance racing.  I have never felt more prepared or confident heading into a race.  If you are ready to take your performance to the next level with a data-driven, coach-supported approach, Tony and TriDot is the one to get you there.

I met coach Tony prior to doing my first 70.3 and first triathlon ever.  Tony taught me how to swim, literally, but also offered to meet for swim and cycle practice multiple times.  Tony was more than generous with his time and triathlon equipment.  He continuously checked in on my training throughout my prep and on race weekend.  His knowledge and experience truly made my experience better.

In December 2023, I completed my first marathon still standing and looking at what else to accomplish.  The thought of becoming and Ironman entered my mind, so I soon signed up for Ironman Wisconsin.  Coming from no triathlon or biking experience, Tony was able to coach me and turn me from a marathoner to and Ironman in about 8 months.  Since then, I have set my sights on the next challenge with Tony still as my coach.

Hector A.

Hello everybody, my name is Hector.  I am 43 years old and live in Nashua, New Hampshire.  I started to do Ironman races in 2021.  My son passed away and I wanted to keep his legacy going, so I decided to do triathlons.  I didn't know how to swim, didn't own a bike and never ran more than a couple miles at a time, but I knew I was determined to do an Ironman.  One day, at the pool at the YMCA, I met a guy named Kevin and I explained to him what I was doing and he let me know that he had don a couple of Ironmans and that his brother was a coach with TriDot.  He introduced me to Coach Tony in 2021 and my life changed completely his help teaching how to swim, bike and run.  Honestly, I could not have done it without him.  I know he always tells me it's my dedication to drive, but if you do not have a coach to match that energy, match that drive, match everything you put out, then that coach is not the right fit for you.  Tony will match your energy, your drive, and your passion.  I did a 70.3 Ironman in Puerto Rico for my 40th birthday.  Not only did he come down to support me, he raced with me.  If you are looking for a coach, Tony is the man because our relationship went from coach to friend and now I consider him my brother.  If you are looking for somebody who can be there for you and help you every step of the way, Coach Tony is that man.  I don't know how to put into words or in perspective all the help he has given me.  In my triathlon journey, I have completed 8 full distance Ironmans and 2 70.3 Ironmans.  I fly  all around the world to race including racing in Brazil and New Zealand.  I have my sight set on Italy and Japoan.  Tony is a true inspiration.  If you need help in any type of way, please don't be afraid to reach out to him and he will set you in the right path.

Training for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in St. George Utah and then turning around just one week later to run the NYC Marathon was a tall order, both physically and mentally.  Coach Tony not only rose to the challenge, but guided me through it with unmatched insight, care, and professionalism.  What made Tony's coaching stand out was how hands-on and deeply invested he was in my success.  He had raced the St. George course himself and the strategic tips and mental prep he gave me were things I could not have found anywhere else.  His knowledge of both the terrain and the demands of back-to-back endurance events gave me the confidence I needed to toe the line at both races.  During our three months together, I faced an number of unexpected hurdles including a groin injury early on and a case of vertigo that affected my swim training.  Tony never flinched.  He quickly adapted my training, kept the big picture in focus and help me stay on track without risking further setbacks.  The result?  I crossed the finish line at the NYC Marathon with a Boston-qualifying time,  just one week after completing one of the most grueling 70.3 courses out there.  Even after the races, Tony continued to check in and offer support, which speaks volumes about his character and dedication.  I can say without hesitation, five stars, highly recommend.  Coach Tony is the real deal.

Coach Tony was my best ally in moving towards my triathlon goals.  He's influenced by his career as a commercial pilot and offers a  science-based "systems approach" towards athletic development.  I don't  know if Tony realizes how much he helped me examine my 'why' for  triathlon, by reminding me to have fun with the sport.  His message is  always positive and receptive. Through earning his own Ironman World  Championship spot, and helping others do the same, he's proven his  methods. One of Tony's specialtties is helping athletes who hit  road-blocks or plateaus with swimming too!

I had been  participating in triathlons for over three decades, and at the age of  60, it was time to either step up and attempt a full-distance Ironman or  remove it from my list. The only way to do this wisely  was to build a team to support this goal. I went looking online for a  coach using the parameters of someone who has experience working with  ‘non-spring chickens’ and athletes with larger frames. I’m sorry, a  190-pound body absorbs impact differently than a  140-pound body.  My searches led me to Tony, who not only had the  experience I was looking for, but he also embodied both dimensions  personally.  Working with Tony  gave me the confidence to take on this adventure. As Tony was affiliated  with TriDot, I also integrated that platform as the foundation of my  training. With Tony explaining TriDot, tweaking  the training plan to fit my life, my training was locked in and  amazing. Tony showed me I could run my business, meet my family  priorities, and be ready for an Ironman. Tony was available for a quick call  whenever I had questions or it was time to build my race day plan. He  encouraged my progress and celebrated my accomplishments. I may have  been able to complete the Florida IM without a  coach, but there is no way I would have been fully confident in my  ability to do so at the start line. Working with Tony made that  possible.  If you are ready for  someone to meet you where you are in your triathlon journey, whether  you're a beginner or a long-time triathlete, you can’t go wrong if you  decide to work with Tony.

Mark M.

I had a swim session  with Tony as part of my triathlon training, and he made a strong  impression in a short amount of time. He spent a lot of focused time  with me in the pool identifying opportunities to  improve my stroke and walked me through drills I could continue  practicing on my own. He was encouraging, knowledgeable, and great to  work with—a genuinely nice guy who clearly cares about helping athletes  improve.

Katelyn M.

I worked with Tony through my first two seasons in triathlon, he  coached me to the finish lines of a sprint, Olympic, and two 70.3s  prepared in the best way possible and injury free. Tony is knowledgeable  and responsive to last minute messages with questions  and anxieties. He has a vast knowledge of the sport as he has been  competing in triathlons for many years. He is encouraging with just the  right amount of “tough love” which helped keep me grounded and with my  goals in mind. Being that he knows what a busy  work schedule looks like, Tony also helped me navigate meeting the  demands of consistent training while managing a full time PACU nursing  work schedule with overnight and weekend call time required. Tony is a  great coach, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend  him from beginner to advanced athlete, Tony will help you set and  achieve your goals

Sam H.

Tony is a great coach in many ways. Patience, understanding your  unique situation, and all around knowledge it takes to perform.  He is well versed in nutrition and fitness which is helpful when building a training program that custom for his athletes.  He is genuinely interested in seeing you succeed not only in racing, but also in life.

Conor V.

Training with Tony was nothing short of transformative. When I signed up for my first Ironman, I had very little experience swimming and biking. Tony believed in me from day one and built a training plan that was smart, challenging, and unique to me.  What sets Tony apart is not just his expertise and deep knowledge of endurance training, but his ability to motivate, adapt, and keep things fun. There were tough days— almost injuries, low motivation, life getting in the way—but Tony never wavered. Instead, he guided me through every setback with patience and strategy. The main objective was always clear.  Race day should be enjoyable if you’ve trained properly. Thanks to Tony’s guidance I felt very confident and never wavered throughout the race. Seriously, look up the historically high DNF rates from IM Wisconsin 2022. Crossing that finish line was one of the proudest moments of my life, and I wouldn’t have made it without him. Whether you’re serious about training for an Ironman, or just want to discover what you’re capable of, I can’t recommend Tony enough.

Jack M.

Tony is an exceptional coach. He brings deep expertise, unwavering  support, and a genuine dedication to his athletes. Throughout our time  together, he helped me strike the perfect balance between a demanding  professional schedule and a rigorous  training plan. His approach allowed me to excel both in the workplace  and on the race course. I’m incredibly grateful for his guidance and  can’t recommend him highly enough.

Tyler G.

As a marathon runner, I aspired to try my hand at the triathlon, but I hadn't had swimming instruction since I was in high school gym class.  I reached out to Tony  and he was immediately willing to help me out.  He conveniently met me at my gym and provided me with one on one coaching for an hour long session.  In that short time, we were able to make some modifications to my stroke and build a foundation to work on.  I appreciated Tony's solid communication and personable attitude, which helped me feel comfortable asking questions.

Mike M.

Tony is a fantastic coach who worked to meet me where I was in my training, as things did not work out with the coach I had before.  His background in swimming makes him an expert in the nuances of freestyle.  As a fellow swim coach, I felt that he was able to provide me the same type of feedback that I would provide my athletes.  He understands the differences between open water and pool swimming and knows how to recommend the RIGHT modifications.  Not only that, but Tony is also knowledgeable about the process of bike fitting and helped me tweak my position to keep me comfortable for the longer distance triathlons.  He is always available if you should need to bounce ideas off of someone and an incredibly skilled motivator.  Coach Tony rocks!
